Now the timing is adjustable in blocks of a few hundred rpm, so you can tailor the curve to get every ounce of power from the motor. Pull timing back at peak torque and pour it on for max hp at high rpm.

Typically, when your car comes from the manufacturer, ignition base idle timing is set to a manufacture specification before top dead center. Our Tick Performance Blower Stage 2 Camshaft is well suited for max-effort LS3 & L99 applications (especially stroker motors) that use either Centrifugal OR Roots-style Superchargers. Idle is more aggressive than our Blower Stage 1 offering, but still not radical. This camshaft will not work in vehicles equipped with VVT or DOD. That is kind of backwards from the way you check initial static timing at idle (with the primary zero timing mark on the balancer next to the 12 (or whatever) degree BEFORE mark on the timing tab. Also, the more bottom end you need, or the bigger cam you've got, the more intial advance at idle you should set, up to as much as 16 degrees before TDC.
